BASES
ARTÍCULO 1. Objeto.
El objeto de la convocatoria del I CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE TEXTOS PARA SU REPRESENTACIÓN TEATRAL. FUNDACIÓN SMEDIA 2023, es fomentar la creación literaria orientada a la representación teatral e incentivar el talento de sus creadores, mediante la selección de entre los textos presentados escritos inglés, francés y español de tema libre, original e inédito, tanto desde el punto de vista de sus valores literarios, como de su idoneidad para la representación escénica.
ARTÍCULO 2. Requisitos de los participantes.
Podrá participar en esta convocatoria, cualquier persona física, de cualquier lugar del mundo, siempre que sea autor/a de la obra presentada.
Se admitirán obras en coautoría.
ARTÍCULO 3. Importe del Premio.
La dotación económica del Premio asciende a 3.000 € y estará sujeto a la retención del IRPF que corresponda.
ARTÍCULO 4. Requisitos de las obras que concurran al Premio.
Los autores podrán participar con una obra, como máximo.
Las obras presentadas deberán ser cien por cien originales y no haber sido publicadas ni representadas total o parcialmente en teatro alguno, ya sea de cámara, ensayo, oficial o comercial hasta la celebración del fallo.
La temática es libre, con una extensión mínima que permita una puesta en escena de al menos setenta minutos.
El texto podrá estar escrito en inglés, francés y español.
No debe haber sido publicado en ningún formato (papel o digital).
No debe haber sido premiado anteriormente en ningún otro concurso.
No debe haber sido estrenado con fines comerciales.
Si entre la finalización del plazo de presentación y la concesión del premio, alguna de las personas autoras concurrentes obtuviera otro premio en otro certamen literario con la misma obra que presenta a este premio, deberá comunicarlo por escrito a la Fundación Smedia a fin de que el Jurado no la tenga en consideración en su decisión.
ARTÍCULO 5. Aceptación de las condiciones de la convocatoria.
La participación en esta convocatoria supone la aceptación de la totalidad de sus condiciones por parte de los candidatos.
El autor se compromete con la presentación de la obra a garantizar su autoría y originalidad.
ARTÍCULO 6. Plazos de presentación.
El plazo para la presentación de las solicitudes para participar será desde
Hasta el 31 de enero de 2024.
ARTÍCULO 7. Lugar de presentación.
Las obras se presentarán de forma telemática al correo de la Fundación Smedia info@fundacionenriquesalaberria.org poniendo en el asunto: I CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE TEXTOS TEATRALES.
ARTÍCULO 8. Documentación a presentar por los participantes.
Solo será necesario presentar la obra correspondiente, en formato PDF. Este archivo llevará el siguiente nombre: “I CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE TEXTOS PARA SU REPRESENTACIÓN TEATRAL. FUNDACIÓN SMEDIA 2023. Título y Autor de la obra”.
Además, se deberá incluir al inicio del texto la descripción de todos los personajes de la obra, así como una breve sinopsis de ésta. También, los datos de contacto con el autor/a.
ARTÍCULO 9. Composición y actuación del Jurado.
La valoración de las obras presentadas se realizará por un Jurado con la siguiente composición:
Presidente: Enrique Salaberría Folgado
Vocales: dos, de elección por la Fundación Smedia
Asistirá al Jurado, sin formar parte de este, como secretaria, la Directora de la Fundación Smedia.
Las decisiones del Jurado se adoptarán por mayoría, quedando las mismas reflejadas en el acta de la sesión correspondiente.
El Jurado únicamente podrá proponer una obra ganadora.
Si el Jurado estimase que las obras presentadas no alcanzan la calidad mínima exigible, podrá declarar desierto tanto el premio, como la edición y la representación de la obra.
ARTÍCULO 10. Criterios de valoración para la concesión del Premio.
El principal criterio de valoración será la potencialidad escénica del texto y su aportación positiva al panorama teatral actual.
ARTÍCULO 11. Procedimiento de concesión.
El premio será abonado a través de transferencia bancaria en la cuenta indicada por el beneficiario. El importe estará sujeto a la retención correspondiente de IRPF, conforme a lo establecido en la legislación vigente.
El autor premiado deberá asistir al acto público que la Fundación Smedia podrá organizar al respecto.
ARTÍCULO 12. Compromisos y cesión de derechos.
La Fundación Smedia, a través de Gruposmedia, se reserva el derecho de realizar la edición y/o producción y representación de la obra premiada. En este sentido, el autor, con la aceptación de estas bases, cederá sus derechos para las eventuales ediciones y/o representaciones específicas.
Los participantes, por el hecho de concurrir a esta convocatoria, aceptan íntegramente estas bases, así como las decisiones del Jurado y autorizan a la Fundación Smedia para difundir información sobre el Premio que incluya datos profesionales y/o fotografías del/de los ganador/es.
Los participantes eximen a la Fundación Smedia de cualquier responsabilidad derivada del plagio o de cualquier otra trasgresión de la legislación vigente en la que pudiera incurrir alguno de los participantes.
ARTÍCULO 13. Devolución de las obras no premiadas.
Al exigir la presente convocatoria la presentación de las obras en formato PDF, las no premiadas serán eliminadas tras la publicación de la concesión del Premio.
ARTÍCULO 14. Otras estipulaciones.
El plazo de presentación de originales finalizará el 31 de enero de 2024, a las 24:00 horas.
La Fundación Smedia no adquiere, en virtud de este Premio, ninguna responsabilidad directa ni subsidiaria en relación con la realización y desarrollo del Premio distinta de la detallada en el presente documento.
En caso de reclamación o conflicto, tanto los participantes como la organización deberán someterse a Madrid capital, renunciando a cualquier otro fuero que pudiera corresponderles.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ARTICLE 1. Purpose
The purpose of the I INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF THEATRICAL TEXTS is to promote literary creation oriented to theatrical performance and encouraging the talent of its creators.
The jury will choose the best among the texts submitted, written in English, French and Spanish, with a free theme, original and unpublished, both from the point of view of its literary values and its suitability for stage representation.
ARTICLE 2. Requirements for participants.
Any natural person from anywhere in the world may participate in this call for entries, provided that he/she is the author of the work submitted.
Co-authored works will be admitted.
ARTICLE 3. Amount of the Prize.
The Prize is €3,000 (three thousand euros) and will be subject to the corresponding income tax withholding.
ARTICLE 4. Requirements of the works competing for the Award.
Authors may participate with a maximum of one play. The works submitted must be one hundred percent original and must not have been published or performed in whole or in part in any theater.
The theme is free, with a minimum length that allows a staging of at least seventy minutes.
The text may be written in English, French and Spanish.
It must not have been published in any format (paper or digital).
It must not have been previously awarded in any other contest.
It must not have been premiered for commercial purposes.
If between the deadline for submission and the awarding of the prize, any of the competing authors should win another prize in another literary contest with the same work submitted for this prize, he/she must notify this in writing to the Fundación Smedia so that the Jury does not take it into consideration in its decision.
ARTICLE 5. Acceptance of the conditions of the call.
Participation in this call for entries implies the acceptance of all of its conditions by the candidates. By submitting the work, the author undertakes to guarantee its authorship and originality.
ARTICLE 6. Deadlines for submission.
The deadline for the submission of applications to participate shall be from January 31, 2024.
ARTICLE 7. Place of presentation.
The works shall be submitted by email to the Fundación Smedia info@fundacionenriquesalaberria.org with the following subject: I INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF THEATRICAL TEXTS.
ARTICLE 8. Documentation to be submitted by participants.
It will only be necessary to submit the corresponding work, in PDF format. This file will have the following name: «I INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF THEATRICAL TEXTS. Title and Author of the play”. In addition, a description of all the characters in the work, as well as a brief synopsis of the work, must be included at the beginning of the text. The author’s contact information must also be included.
ARTICLE 9. Composition and performance of the Jury.
The evaluation of the works submitted will be carried out by a Jury with the following composition:
President: Enrique Salaberría Folgado
Members: two, to be chosen by the Smedia Foundation.
The Jury will be assisted by the Director of the Fundación Smedia as secretary, although she will not be a member of the Jury.
The decisions of the Jury will be adopted by majority vote and will be reflected in the minutes of the corresponding session.
The Jury may only propose one winning work.
If the Jury considers that the works presented do not reach the minimum quality required, it may declare the prize, the edition and the performance of the work void.
ARTICLE 10. Evaluation criteria for the awarding of the Prize.
The main evaluation criteria will be the scenic potential of the text and its positive contribution to the current theatrical panorama.
ARTICLE 11. Award procedure.
The prize shall be paid by bank transfer to the account indicated by the beneficiary. The amount will be subject to the corresponding income tax withholding, in accordance with the provisions of current legislation.
The awarded author must attend the public event that the Smedia Foundation may organize in this regard.
ARTICLE 12. Commitments and assignment of rights.
Fundación Smedia, through Grupo Smedia, reserves the right to carry out the edition and/or production and representation of the awarded play. In this sense, the author, with the acceptance of these rules, will cede his rights for the eventual editions and/or specific representations.
Participants, by entering this competition, fully accept these rules, as well as the decisions of the Jury and authorize the Fundación Smedia to disseminate information about the Prize, including professional data and/or photographs of the winner(s).
Participants exempt Fundación Smedia from any liability arising from plagiarism or any other violation of current legislation that may be incurred by any of the participants.
ARTICLE 13. Return of non-awarded works.
Since this call for entries must be submitted in PDF format, non-winning entries will be eliminated after the publication of the award of the Prize.
ARTICLE 14. Other stipulations.
The deadline for the submission of texts shall end on January 31, 2024, at 24:00 hours.
Fundación Smedia does not acquire, by virtue of this Award, any direct or subsidiary responsibility in relation to the execution and development of the Award other than that detailed in this document.
In the event of any claim or dispute, both the participants and the organization shall submit to the jurisdiction of the city of Madrid, waiving any other jurisdiction to which that may correspond to them.
